Got to spend Good Friday with these amazing people and with of course, God. Haha. We went to the City Church’s Kirkland campus for service and the start of the Jesus Is____. Tour. Pastor Judah did an amazing job and his sermon was so good.
John 11:3 ESV
So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”
He focused on the idea of when we are in the heat of the moment we say things we don’t really mean, but in all reality we actually say stuff the we are really thinking and truly mean. With that idea, and the passage from John were Mary and Martha are writing a letter to Jesus to save Lazarus, they could have written anything, but they wrote “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”. With this they focused on Jesus and God, and his love for us. Not our love for him. He whom you love. We forgot to think this way, and I thought it was cool seeing that. The love that Jesus give us is agape love, not philia love. His love is never-ending and a love that gives without anything in return. We need to remember that when things seem so hard and like nothing is there, God is there. We tend to forgot that, and so we just need to remember that God loves us. We should live to showcase God’s love, not ours.
It amazes me how much time I can waste in a day. So much to do…. Sigh…
